In recent weeks, the League of Legends community has learned more and more details about the next champion to arrive in the game, a mysterious support character who will go by the name of Renata Glasc.
While Riot has been anticipating this ever since they showed off their roadmap last September, new leaks coming from the Chinese version of Teamfight Tactics, as well as a new teaser website released on 28th January, have given us more insight into Riot's abilities and strengths of this new champion.
With that said, here is everything you need to know about Renata Glasc, including her backstory, leaks of her appearance and abilities, and her expected release date.
Who is Renata Glasc?
Much of the new content that has come to League of Legends has been focused on the toxic nation of Zaun, as we saw with the arrival of the Chemtech Dragon (which has now been retired indefinitely) and the addition of Zeri with her electrical abilities to the game's roster. Likewise, the release of Renata Glasc will be no exception.
According to a Riot's secret teaser website, Renata is described as a powerful tycoon and alchemist. She is also the founder of Glasc Industries, a company that has been developing technologies to redefine beauty and improve the lives of the people of Zaun and Piltover alike for over 30 years.
However, Renata's vision is often blinded by money and power. According to the champion's dialogue, money "runs this city" and "all can be bought when you have enough cash," making her manipulative nature clear but hidden behind her inventions.
The website also reveals some of her greatest creations, which are divided into two product lines. First is the Luxury Line, a limited collection of captivating fragrances, self-defence solutions, and augmented limb technology. The second is the Diffusion Line, with items ranging from everyday filtration units to replacement limbs and medical alchemy.
It’s not yet clear what Renata Glasc's intentions might be in Runeterra, but from what we can see in her company's story, its goal is “to become the most revolutionary and impactful manufacturer in the world,” while making “Chemtech affordable, beautiful, and accessible for all.”
What are Renata Glasc's rumoured abilities?
It appears that Renata Glasc's skill set will be based on the use of her Chemtech tools, both to improve her allies around her and to decrease the power of her enemies.
According to a Twitter leak by "Monstrous Yi" on 26th January, we've already been able to observe part of her set. The leaker noted that data was mined from the Chinese version of TFT and revealed Renata Glasc's appearance, which shows the champion hidden behind a Zaunite typical mask; and her passive and main abilities in the game mode.
''Renata'' was datamined from a game called 金铲铲之战 which is a chinese mobile version of TFT. They got their own skin line and everything and they might do the same thing with champions now. But what for some reason https://t.co/P2fOaYx84M is private.https://t.co/r4qBbdqdYtpic.twitter.com/PmrDsbmCZy

In TFT, the champion will be a four-star Chemtech and Scholar unit. Her passive allows her basic attacks to deal 1/2/5% of the target's max health as true damage.
Her special ability will fire a missile at her target, dealing 200/300/900 magic damage to all enemies that are hit, and reducing their magic resist by 10/15/30.
After a few seconds, the missile will explode, having the same effect on the enemy as the explosion, while the magic resist reduction can stack.
Renata Glasc slated for March release date?
Considering all the official information about Renata thus far, in addition to the leaks, we can expect that Renata Glasc will debut during the month of March, possibly during the League of Legends v12.5 gameplay update.
However, notably, this release date has not been confirmed by Riot.
For now, we’ll have to wait to learn more about this new support with charming style and sinister appearance, which is expected to bring a balance to the "brightness and colour" of the current champions, giving support players "the feeling of being the bosses they are."
